Delivery Charge
The delivery charge is;

£20 for postcodes beginning with – NP, CF, SA & GL
-
£30 for postcodes beginning with – BS, BA, SN, HR, LD, WR & TA
-
£40 – Non Local – All other postcodes within Mainland UK.

NO CHARGE – for customers who wish to pick up items from our Newport Warehouse
George Street Furnishers’ deliver your goods using our own delivery vans or employ nationally recognised courier services for deliveries outside our local area. Upon request, George Street Furnishers’ will deliver to non-local postcodes with one of its vans, subject to extra charges. Delivery Times
Once we have processed your order we attempt to deliver all orders within the time frame specified. Delivery times are estimates given to us by manufacturers.
Due to the difficult logistics of furniture delivery we cannot give a specific time of delivery. If requested we will endeavour to advice you an AM or PM time.
We aim to deliver your furniture within the time quoted on our website when you place your order. If circumstances change, we will contact you. If, however, it is delayed due to circumstances beyond our control, then we cannot accept any liability for consequential loss. Any changes in the expected delivery time will be e-mailed to you 24 hours before delivery.
If you require goods to be delivered later or earlier than the time stated on the web site, please contact us to arrange for a separate quotation either by telephone or e-mail.
Assembly
Many items require simple self assembly. For those in our local area, we will assemble such items for you and remove all packaging, subject to your satisfaction of the product.
Delivery of such items outside our local area is usually undertaken by a courier and therefore self assembly is required.
Certain items such as wardrobes require full/more complicated assembly and therefore are not assembled by us on delivery or a courier. An extra charge can be added for assembly of such items within local and non-local delivery. Access
It is YOUR responsibility to ensure there is adequate access and space for delivery vans and your furniture to receive the goods on delivery. Delivery will be made to the GROUND entrance, movement beyond this point may be undertaken by our delivery staff, but this would be at your responsibility. They will remove all wrappings and packaging and dispose of them for you.
If we use a carrier to deliver your goods, normally to places outside our normal delivery area, packaging will remain on the goods and will have to be disposed of by the customer.
Our delivery team or carrier will NOT remove or dispose of unwanted furniture from the premises.
If windows or doors are required to be removed the customer must ensure that this is carried out before the delivery arrives, and entirely at the customers risk and cost. This will be done by arrangement between us and the customer and carried out at the arranged time. There will be an extra charge if this arrangement is carried out other than on our normal delivery day.
All deliveries must be signed for. If you are out when our delivery team arrives, they will leave a card with a contact number for you to call them and arrange a delivery at a future date. Please note that there may be an additional charge for this.
Ownership and Risk
You will become the owner of the goods (and be liable for the loss or destruction of the goods) at the time of delivery, provided that we have received payment in full for the goods
Staff making deliveries are required by law to wear protective footwear at all times. As they are not allowed to remove this footwear when unloading the vehicle, gaining access to the property, or carrying furniture into the property, we strongly advise customers to make proper provision to protect their carpets and flooring. We do not accept responsibility for any marks or damage that may inadvertently be caused by delivery staff during the normal course of their work.
For security reasons we are unable to deliver to addresses which are not the card holders address.
