George Street Furnishers

Terms & Conditions

1. Price

All furniture on this website is offered at the price shown on screen and is inclusive of VAT @ 17.5% unless stated otherwise. Payment for goods may be by secure Debit/Credit Card.

Note: If you choose to pay by Credit/Debit card we will only deliver to the address the card is registered to. If this is unsuitable for you please contact us to arrange an alternative payment method.

The prices for the goods are those stated on the web site but these may be subject to correction without any liability on the part of the seller.

Delivery may be charged in addition to the prices quoted on each item; this will be shown in the checkout pages.

2. Delivery

Please note that we only deliver to the UK Mainland.

Once we have processed your order we attempt to deliver all orders within the time frame specified. Delivery times are estimates given to us by manufacturers.

We offer a free delivery service to specific areas, see delivery page. All other service types and geographic areas will attract a delivery charge. This is displayed on the order form before you finalise your order.

Due to the difficult logistics of furniture delivery we cannot give a specific time of delivery. If requested we will endeavour to advice you a AM or PM time. Delivery to certain areas is only on specific days for free delivery; additional charges apply if another time slot is arranged.

George Street Furnisher's employ nationally recognised courier services to deliver your goods as well as using our own delivery vans.

If you require goods to be delivered quicker than the time stated on the web site, please contact us to arrange for a separate quotation either by telephone or e-mail.

We aim to deliver your furniture within the time quoted on our website when you place your order. If circumstances change, we will contact you. If, however, it is delayed due to circumstances beyond our control, then we cannot accept any liability for consequential loss. Any changes in the expected delivery time will be e-mailed to you 24 hours before delivery.

The delivery times quoted on the website are for delivery to postcodes which fall within our normal delivery areas. Should your postcode fall outside our normal delivery area, delivery times may vary. We will inform you of this when confirming acceptance of your order.

You will become the owner of the goods (and be liable for the loss or destruction of the goods) at the time of delivery, provided that we have received payment in full for the goods.

Our delivery team will carefully install your new furniture in your home, exactly where you want it (subject to access). They will remove all wrappings and packaging and dispose of them for you. However, if we use a carrier to deliver your goods, normally to places outside our normal delivery area, packaging will remain on the goods and will have to be disposed off by the customer.

All deliveries must be signed for. If you are out when our delivery team arrives, they will leave a card with a contact number for you to call them and arrange a delivery at a future date. Please note that there may be an additional charge for this.

If windows or doors are required to be removed the customer must ensure that this is carried out before the delivery arrives, and entirely at the customers risk and cost. This will be done by arrangement between us and the customer and carried out at the arranged time. There will be an extra charge if this arrangement is carried out other than on our normal delivery day.

3. Access to the destination room

Before placing an order, please check that the items of furniture will fit through any passages, stairwells, landings and doorways on the way to the destination room. Please remove any pictures, mirrors, light fittings etc before the furniture is brought into the house.

As part of the checkout process, you will be requested to confirm that you have checked access thoroughly.

George Street Furnisher's are not responsible for furniture that cannot be delivered due to inadequate entry into or throughout your property. It is the customer's responsibility to ensure that access is possible. Delivery will be made to the ground floor entrance; any further movement beyond this point may be undertaken by our delivery staff but would be at the customer's sole responsibility. Refunds or Cancellations are not accepted.

Should you have any concerns over access, then please note them on the comments box on the order or contact us by e-mail or on 01633 214241 9am - 5 pm Monday to Friday.

4. Returns - Damaged and Defective Goods

If upon receipt of delivery you find that your goods are damaged please notify us within 24 hours of your delivery date by calling 01633 214 241 or email us at customerservice@georgestreet.co.uk.

You will then be contacted about the issue and it will be dealt with promptly.

The collection of goods will be arranged through our nominated delivery carrier. In the case of faulty goods, damaged goods or goods that have been sent incorrectly, George Street Furnisher's will pay for the return of these goods.

5. 7 Day Cooling Off Period

You have the unconditional right to cancel your order within 7 working days without having to give us a reason.

Certain goods are exempt from this cooling off period, for example a mattress which has been taken out of its sealed packaging in which it was delivered, and special order or bespoke items ordered.

The 7 working days start from the day after the day that you receive the goods. We will provide a full refund for the purchase price of the goods, but not any delivery charges. Please note that you will have to pay the return delivery cost of the goods to us, which depending on the item weight may vary between £25 and £100 + VAT.

All goods must be unopened and in perfect condition. We unconditionally reserve the right to not refund if the goods are not returned in a suitable condition.

If you are not satisfied with any of the goods delivered, you must contact us on 01633 214 241 or at customerservice@georgestreet.co.uk.

If you contact the Customer Service Centre you should quote the sales invoice number, the goods that you are querying, the price paid and the quantity ordered. If you are returning the goods to the shop then you must return the goods with the sales invoice.
